Understand what your codebase builds, why it is structured that way, and what a change could affect. One shared Markdown ontology for humans and coding agents—visualized for people, accessible to agents through MCP, and reviewed with Git. Local-first. Open source.
README
A repo-native memory layer for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
Your AI coding agent forgets your codebase between sessions. Give it a local, git-backed mental model it can read, query, and maintain through MCP.

Ontology Atlas is the installable macOS app and public product name for the
ontology-atlas project. ontology-atlas remains the repository, CLI, MCP, and
release-artifact identity.
ontology-atlas is a local-first workbench for the shared memory between a
developer and their AI coding agent. The graph is not stored in a hosted
database. It is plain markdown frontmatter inside your repo, so every change is
reviewable as a normal git diff.

AI coding agents are useful, but they usually rebuild project context from scratch every session. They remember the current prompt better than the long term shape of the codebase: domains, capabilities, dependencies, ownership, and design decisions.
